The U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the HOPE NOW Alliance yesterday sponsored their 78th free outreach event for struggling homeowners in Nashville, Tennessee.
The event gave local residents the opportunity to meet face-to-face with the nation's largest mortgage servicers as well as several non-profit housing counseling organizations, review their options and learn about possible alternatives to foreclosure. One homeowner, Yolanda Mitchell, attended yesterday’s event and left with “a smile on her face” after learning about available options to keep her home. Click here for her story.
Additional Making Home Affordable events are planned for 2012 in Orlando, Florida and Ontario, California. For more information about these events and other free resources for struggling homeowners, please visit MakingHomeAffordable.gov.
