OCTOBER 2010 NEWS RELEASE Gary H. Burner, Chief Financial Officer, Federal Financing Bank (FFB) announced the following activity for the month of September 2010. FFB holdings of obligations issued, sold or guaranteed by other Federal agencies totaled $59.8 billion on September 30, 2010, posting an increase of $5,446.0 million from the level on August 31, 2010. This net change was the result of a decrease in holdings of agency assets of $360.0 million and an increase in holdings of agency debt of $5,458.4 million and in net holdings of government-guaranteed loans of $347.6 million. The FFB made 114 disbursements and received 3 prepayments in the month of September. The FFB also extended the maturities of 248 loans guaranteed by the Rural Utilities Service (“RUS”) during the month. During fiscal year 2010, the FFB holdings of obligations issued, sold or guaranteed by other Federal agencies posted a net decrease of $2,252.0 million from the level on September 30, 2009. This net change was the result of a decrease in holdings of agency debt of $6,482.8 million and in agency assets of $689.1 million and an increase in net holdings of government-guaranteed loans of $4,919.9 million. |
