OCTOBER 2011 NEWS RELEASE Gary H. Burner, Chief Financial Officer, Federal Financing Bank (FFB) announced the following activity for the month of September 2011. FFB holdings of obligations issued, sold or guaranteed by other Federal agencies totaled $57.6 billion on September 30, 2011, posting an increase of $2,059.6 million from the level on August 31, 2011. This net change was the result of increases in net holdings of agency debt of $1,515.2 million and government-guaranteed loans of $847.4 million and a decrease in holdings of agency assets of $303.0 million. The FFB made 163 disbursements in the month of September. The FFB also extended the maturities of 318 loans guaranteed by the Rural Utilities Service (“RUS”) and reset the interest rate for 3 loans issued by the U.S. Postal Service during the month. During fiscal year 2011, the FFB holdings of obligations issued, sold or guaranteed by other Federal agencies posted a net decrease of $2,223.9 million from the level on September 30, 2010. This net change was the result of a decrease in holdings of agency debt of $9,100.1 million and in agency assets of $683.0 million and an increase government-guaranteed loans of $7,559.1 million. |
