FEDERAL FINANCING BANK
Gary H. Burner, Chief Financial Officer, Federal Financing Bank (FFB) announced the following activity for the month of January 2012. FFB holdings of obligations issued, sold or guaranteed by other Federal agencies totaled $59.6 billion on January 31, 2012, posting a decrease of $590.3 million from the level on December 31, 2011. This net change was the result of a decrease in holdings of agency debt of $725.4 million and an increase in net holdings of government-guaranteed loans of $135.0 million. The FFB made 118 disbursements and received 11 prepayments in the month of January. The FFB also reset the interest rate for one loan guaranteed by the Department of Education, one loan issued by the U.S. Postal Service, and 15 loans issued by the Hope for Homeowners program during the month. In addition, the FFB extended the maturities on 355 loans guaranteed by the Rural Utilities Service (“RUS”). Attached to this release are tables presenting FFB January loan activity and FFB holdings as of January 31, 2012. |
