The Electronic Crimes and Intelligence Division, manages the Criminal Intelligence/Counterterrorism program, the Cybercrime Investigations Team and the Digital Forensics Support Group, all of which leverage computer experience and expertise in order to provide TIGTA Field Divisions with criminal intelligence and analysis on potential threats against IRS systems, facilities, or personnel through intelligence gathering activities; provide support and advice concerning the searching and seizure of computers and computer related media; the forensic analysis of seized electronic evidence; as well as investigate attacks, intrusions and threats against the IRS' computer and network infrastructure.
