Drew Maloney is the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Legislative Affairs.  Unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate on August 3, 2017, Assistant Secretary Maloney oversees the creation and execution of Treasury’s engagement with Congress.  The Assistant Secretary reports directly to the Secretary and is engaged with significant policymaking issues that include tax reform, financial regulations, terrorism finance, and CFIUS transactions.

Maloney is recognized as a leading government affairs expert, with more than 25 years of experience.  Prior to Maloney’s appointment, he served as a corporate officer and Vice President of Government and External Affairs for Hess Corporation, a global independent energy company.  Prior to joining Hess in 2012, Maloney was CEO of Ogilvy Government Relations, a prominent bipartisan government affairs firm.

Maloney has served as a senior advisor to several presidential campaigns and advises on presidential transition efforts for legislative affairs.  He has also held senior positions for several congressmen including House Leadership. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Randolph-Macon College and a J.D. from Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law.
