SUBJECT: Delegation of Seizure, Forfeiture, and Related Authority to the Director, United States Secret Service.
 
1. PURPOSE. This Directive delegates to the Director, United States Secret Service, seizure, forfeiture, and other related authority for violations that are within the investigatory jurisdiction of the United States Secret Service.
2. DELEGATION. By virtue of the authority vested in the Secretary of the Treasury and the authority delegated to the Under Secretary (Enforcement), there is hereby delegated to the Director, United States Secret Service:
a. all seizure, forfeiture, and other related authority which is granted to the Secretary in 49 U.S.C. � 80303 for the violations set forth in 49 U.S.C. � 80302(a)(3) and (4).
b. all seizure, forfeiture, and other related authority which is granted to the Secretary pursuant to 18 U.S.C. � 981 relating to violations set forth in 18 U.S.C. � 981 (a) (1) (C) within the investigatory jurisdiction of the United States Secret Service under � 528 of Public Law 101-509 (28 U.S.C. � 509 note), as amended, and 18 U.S.C. � 3056.
3. FORFEITURE REMISSION. The Director, United States Secret Service, is authorized to remit or mitigate the disposition of property forfeited pursuant to paragraph 2. The forfeiture authority under this Directive is limited to property valued at no more than $500,000 per item.
4. REDELEGATION. The authority delegated by this Directive may be redelegated in writing.

6. CANCELLATION. Treasury Directive 15-55, Delegation of Seizure, Forfeiture, and Related Authority to the Director, United States Secret Service, Relating to Violations Involving Federally Insured Financial Institutions, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), dated February 9, 1992, is superseded.
