Washington – U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin met today with Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela.  The Secretary and the President discussed ongoing partnerships between the United States and Panama, and Panama's progress on anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism efforts.  They also discussed Panama's involvement in the Latin American regional Financial Action Task Force, partnerships with Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control, and broader tax issues affecting the two countries.
