Banking, Saving & Investment

I believe that I or a relative of mine may have money in a bank account from many years ago. How do I find out if there are any unclaimed assets for me?

Our office receives many inquiries from people who are tracing a lost or abandoned bank account. Banks turn over unclaimed, dormant, or abandoned accounts to State governments. Banks generally do not make listings of persons who have unclaimed property available to the public. However, many state governments have searchable databases that allow unclaimed property owners to search for their property. We suggest that you contact officials in the State government to learn the best way to find the funds you seek or visit www.unclaimed.org
